Johnson and Clark weren't famous explorers who landed on the shores of Lake Michigan in Traverse City - just a couple of guys who knew about letterpress printing. At that time, they specialized in printing business forms. But more important, these gentlemen started a tradition of customer service in 1952 that continues today.

Their legacy was well established when Wayne Miller came to work for Johnson|Clark Printers in 1972. Wayne encouraged the company to buy its first offset press and the team continued to build on a reputation of exemplary printing. Wayne and partner Ken Laubach bought the company from Bud in 1974 and worked hard to provide stellar customer service to keep the company growing to meet the ever-changing technology needs of prepress, printing, and bindery.

During Wayne's tenure, "We leave a lasting impression..." became the company's slogan, and folks in town came to refer to their favorite printer as just "JC."

In 1991, Sandy Henschell joined the company as a customer service representative and worked side by side with Wayne until 2004 when she bought the company. Sandy's a graduate of Ferris State University and is active with National Association of Printers & Lithographers, the Printing Industry of Michigan, and the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation. You'll see Sandy around town often, as she continues to provide that individual personal service to clients.

JC Printers, continues to excel as northern Michigan's short-run, full color printing specialist. Its direct-to-plate prepress and direct imaging (computer-to-plate) four-color press offers businesses cost-effective and high quality printing with unequalled service.
